The cast of Marvel's "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." seems to be growing before the air date of Season 3. The struggle in the Season 2 finale killed off some of the characters like Jiaying (Dichen Lachman), Gordon (Jamie Harris), Raina (Ruth Negga) and Agent 33 (Maya Stojan). This may be the reason why there are a lot of characters that will be introduced in the upcoming season.
International Business Times reports that Constance Zimmer will join the cast as a villain. She is described to be Coulson's (Clark Gregg) new enemy. Reports confirm that Zimmer's character will be the leader of a mysterious new government agency which will cross paths with S.H.I.E.L.D. in their quest to finding more inhumans.
It was earlier confirmed that Lash, who is a new character, will be one of the inhumans that will be recruited for the secret warriors in the upcoming season of the show. The character was reported to have the ability to absorb and manipulate energy. However, there are speculations that his character might decide to join Zimmer's team. As of writing, there is no actor assigned for the role yet.
Another new character will be a new agent and will be played by "Bates Motel" alum, Andrew Howard. As of writing there is still very little information about the character which is called Banks. All that is known is that he is an authoritative and an intimidating agent.
There will also be characters coming back as series regulars like Lincoln (Luke Mitchell) and Mack (Henry Simmons). Entertainment Weekly also reports that Blair Underwood will be back for Season 3 as Andrew Garner. The website reported that the character will appear for several episodes and will also be part of the two-part season finale.
Marvel's "Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." Season 3 is set to air on September 29.
