Maddox is only 14 but his mother shares that he will be starting on his new after-school job. Angelina Jolie says that his teenage son, whom she adopted from Cambodia, will be joining her for work. Maddox will however work behind the scenes rather than on-cam. This latest project of Angelina is a film that is set in Maddox's homeland, Cambodia.
According to reports, Angelina will be directing an adaptation of Loung Ung's memoir, First They Killed My Father: A Daughter Of Cambodia Remembers. The story reflects its author's childhood experiences during the 70's. The filming of this new movie will start in November and as confirmed, Maddox will be his mother's right hand on the film's set.
Maddox will also join Angelina in the production preparations. Angelina says that they will be side by side in learning about the teen's homeland. Angelina believes that it is important for his son to understand who he is. She says, "He is my son but he is also a son of Cambodia." She also adds, "This is the time for our family to understand all that means to him and to us."
Aside from Maddox's participation in his mother's career, he is also involved in the running of the Maddox Jolie-Pitt Foundation. Angelina says that the kid is already involving himself in the foundation and he will take over her role when he is older. The foundation was founded 12 years ago and its main goal is to help families overcome poverty problems in the region, and to help preserve the wildlife habitat for the future generations.
