HBO Chief Says It’s A Wrap For ‘Game Of Thrones’ After 3 More Seasons

HBO Programming Chief Michael Lombardo has disclosed earlier that the "Game of Thrones" drama series will not stay on air for long. According to him, the hit saga only has 3 more seasons to go before it finally wraps.

ABC News tells the eager fans of "Game of Thrones" that HBO Chief Lombardo said that the producers of the fantasy saga are now thinking of completing 3 seasons only after they have concluded the season 5. He added that he hoped that the producers would change their minds but as of the moment that is where the show is leaning on.  Lombardo has shared the information while he attended the Television Critics Association meeting.

He was also asked about the possibility of making a prequel. For him, he thought that "there's "enormous story material to be mined for such a project." However, it is too early to tell since both David Benioff and D.B. Weiss are focus on "Game of thrones season 6," which has started their production for its scheduled air on 2016.

He did not evade when asked of his opinion about the previously concluded season, which was under fir because of its harsh theme- specifically the "rape scene involving a bride's assault by her husband on their wedding night." Lombardo explained that he gave his full support to the producers of the "Game of Thrones." He said that it has been already noted that violence is already part of the filament of the show. He also believed that the producers are very cautious not to violate the limitations and still remain true in narrating the story.

Regardless of the controversy, Voters in the TV academy weren't persuaded by it and had given their vote in favor of GOT. The fantasy saga "received 24 nods for the September awards, including best drama series."

The HBO chief was not also able to escape from being asked about the character of Jon Snow. His straight to the point answer was "dead is dead is dead." According to him, that's what he had seen, heard and read.
