'Downtown Abbey' Season 6 Spoilers: Will Lady Mary Find True Love? TV Show On Its Final Season Plus Movie in the Works?

Cast and crew are now working on the final season of "Downtown Abbey," which is set to air early 2016, and speculations are circulating about the plot of the final season. International Business Times UK listed some of the spoilers which fans can anticipate for Season 6.

In an earlier interview, show creator Julian Fellowes revealed that the main theme for most of Season 6 episodes will be about resolution. He believes that although not everything in the story will have a happy ending, the main themes should be tied up. They reportedly want the fans to finish the final episode of the show feeling contented and not cheated.

It was also reported that in Season 6, Lady Mary (Michelle Dockery) has to choose from her suitors. After losing her husband in Season 3, Mary spent the last seasons trying to move on and get over her loss, and this time she has to make a decision about her love life. Lady Mary has some several men swooning over her and that includes Henry Talbot (Matthew Goode), Viscount Gillingham (Tom Cullen) and Lord Gillingham (Anthony Foyle), who even proposed to her in Season 5 but was rejected as she was still not ready to move on.

Even though the show will reportedly end on a positive note for all of its characters, fans are speculating about a possible movie in the works. According to International Business Times, showrunners revealed in their interviews that as of writing, there are still no firm plans on a possible movie. Executive producer Gareth Neame, however, revealed that they are definitely considering making a film.

With the show coming to a close, the cast of "Downton Abbey " gathered in Beverly Hills last Saturday, August 1, to bid farewell to TV critics for their final season press conference. According to Entertainment Weekly, the cast only has two more weeks left to shoot, and the actors expressed their thoughts on filming the final season.

"Downtown Abbey" Season 6 will premiere on PBS on January 2, 2016.
