Very big changes are on the way as "Grey's Anatomy" returns this fall. According to Ecumenical News, Chandra Wilson, who plays Dr. Miranda Bailey, revealed that one major change will be happening to her character. After having a child and a painful divorce, Bailey is now set to return to her old and notoriously tough self.
Wilson revealed in an interview that fans are going to see the classic Bailey stuff, some classic Bailey behavior," as her self-confidence returns. It was reported that her character is determined to fight for the position of Chief of Surgery. Wilson further explains that this position is very important for Bailey and she thinks that being the chief will be the pinnacle of her career.
Aside from Miranda Bailey, another character who will go through a major change is Meredith Grey. It was earlier speculated that this will be Ellen Pompeo's last season. According to Movie News Guide, Ellen Pompeo will bid farewell to being Meredith Grey after Season 12.
However, as of writing, neither series creator Shonda Rhimes nor Pompeo has commented on the issue. With this speculation, it was reported that Meredith will most likely be killed off in the upcoming season. It was also rumored that Meredith might show signs of Alzheimer's disease in Season 12, which will lead to her possible departure from the show.
In the previous season, as Meredith tried to continue with her life, she sought the help of one of her best friends, Alex (Justin Chambers), and asked if she and the kids can stay over his home for a while. This was reportedly the turning point of Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Alex's relationship as they realized that they have to move to the next level.
In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Luddington revealed that when Alex asked Jo first before deciding to move Meredith and the kids in, she realized that her boyfriend was giving her the respect and the priority she deserves. She even added that she hopes that the couple will last long now that they have expressed their love for one another.
"Grey's Anatomy" Season 12 is set to return on September 24 on ABC.
