Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge Specs & Rumors: New Leaked Photos Reveal Supersize Phablets and Upgraded Features

Mobile maker Samsung has yet to announce its two flagship devices which are the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus. The two devices are set to be unveiled on August 13, but ahead of their slated release, new leaked photos of allegedly official press renders have surfaced anew. The said leaked photos reveal supersize tablets and upgraded features of the rumored devices, a report from Tech Times said.

As Tech Times noted, the reported August product launch is a departure to Samsung's usual product launch date, specifically of the Galaxy Note product line, which is September. The report noted that the company has hinted on its recent post on Twitter the August launch date for both devices. Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will remain to be among the most anticipated phablets this year, according to the report.

The Verge also reports that a known phone leaker identified as Evan Blass has posted via Twitter the so-called official press renders of the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus. Blas apparently released the specifications of the rumored devices, which eventually sparked another wave of speculations.

The new leaked photos reveal that Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus is expected to be bigger than S6 Edge. Samsung Galaxy Note 5, meanwhile, will reportedly share the same physical features with Samsung Galaxy S6, specifically its metal-and-glass design, but the former will have sharper corners.

Blass disclosed that Samsung Galaxy Note 5 will have a 5.66-inch, 2560x1440 display, the same specs found in its predecessor. Also, it was stressed that the phablet's hardware are reportedly an upgrade from the Galaxy S6. The phablet is expected to be powered by an octa-core Exynos 7420 chip, 4GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage capacity. The phablets will also feature a 16-megapixel rear camera paired with a 5-megapixel front shooter, The Verge reports.
