Sofia Vergara has been a household name ever since she was given the role of Gloria in "Modern Family". In an interview, Sofia shares a lot of things about her past experiences and the life realizations she had along the way. She also discussed her new movie co-starring Reese Witherspoon.
Sofia shared her joy of having been able to join Modern Family and being able to successfully become an entrepreneur. She has created a perfume line, a furniture line, and a clothing line. She says that she has started all the businesses that she always had in mind.
According to her stories, she has been through a lot of struggles in life when she was younger. She married her high school sweetheart when she was 18, she gave birth to their son, and after just a year, they got divorced. Although she was very young when she gave birth to Manolo, the mother-son team did not seem to have struggled with their relationship. Through Sofia's ventures in the US showbiz, her son has been nothing but supportive for her. He is her constant buddy and Sofia has been vocally proud of her son's achievements. Sofia goes to social media to announce his son's accomplishments and she also supports her son's Youtube videos by starring in it.
Sofia was diagnosed with thyroid cancer two years ago. She had her thyroid removed and she is now in remission. She continues to take medications so as to avoid hypothyroidism.
She is currently in a relationship with actor Joe Manganiello and they got engaged just this December. Sofia shares that she is now at a point in her life where she already knows what she wants. And as of now, she thinks she found what she has wanted for the longest time. She does hope that she will have a happy Cinderella story.
When discussing about her new movie with Reese Witherspoon, she admits that she "hates being old". She actually submits to getting the old-woman joke in this new movie "Hot Pursuit". Sofia however shares that she can't really complain about it, as she feels great as well. She thinks it is great for comedy to call her character 'old' because this is what most women can relate to.
Sofia remains thankful to getting the lead role in the movie, saying that this is the first time she was given the chance to play the main character. She definitely considers this movie as the most important comedy role she has ever portrayed.
