The first official trailer of "Switched at Birth" Season 4 was recently released online and it gave out a hint on which character will have a child in the upcoming installment.
In the teaser, Bay (Vanessa Marano) could be seen struggling with her split from Emmett (Sean Berdy). After several months of being away from each other, the two will cross paths while on the road. However, it seems like Emmett no longer cares about Bay at all and the latter's mom, Regina, is concerned.
Throughout the past couple of months, fans have also been speculating on which character will have a child in Season 4. Some fans immediately thought that it could just either be Bay or Daphne (Katie Leclerc).
However, in the teaser, it seems that Toby (Lucas Grabeel) could be the one who got his girlfriend pregnant. In the clip, Toby could be seen confiding in Daphne and then his family. He could also be seen worrying about his future while Daphne is motivating him, according to TV Guide.
Ahead of the season premiere, Marano spoke with E! News to reveal that the pregnancy storyline in Season 4 will be huge not only for the fans but also for the cast members.
"We hear that the ABC Family show is about to tackle pregnancy in a way that's going to have fans talking. You thought the rape storyline was powerful? You haven't seen anything yet," Marano told the publication.
Meanwhile, in Season 4, Bay will continue to deal with the rape incident that she became a victim of. In Season 3, Bay was allegedly raped by her friend Ty. The latter was revealed to have taken advantage of her while she was drunk. The said episode that tackled the rape incident became one of the most talked-about episodes on "Switched at Birth."
"Switched at Birth" season 4 will premiere on ABC Family on August 24 at 8 p.m. ET.
