Ronda Rousey Wins Again in Under a Minute

UFC women's champion Ronda Rousey retained her women's bantamweight title, knocking out Bethe Correia in 34 seconds during the first round.

Saturday's UFC 190 main event had UFC fans watching in awe as legendary Ronda Rousey delivered a monster right hand hit which knocked out her Brazilian opponent, Correia, reports MMA Fighting. The UFC champ was a force to be reckoned with as she mixed up body shots, punch combos, and knees hits during the short bout. Rousey even admitted that the fight "kind of went how we expected it." The UFC fighter added, "Instead of trying to force the finish, I decided to overwhelm her with striking first so she'd want to clinch first, and that's exactly what happened."

In the report, MMA Fighting also mentioned how Rousey's win over Correia marked the third time that the UFC fighter defeated her opponents in under a minute. In July 2014, Rousey beat Alexis Davis in 16 seconds, while she defeated Cat Zingano in 14 seconds in February. So far, out of fighter's past twelve matches, eleven of the UFC bantamweight champion's victories came during the first round.

The 28 year old athlete's UFC win even garnered reactions from several Hollywood and sports celebrities. According to Entertainment Tonight, stars such as Demi Lovato took to Twitter to congratulate the UFC champ, writing, "THAT'S MY GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!!" Nick Jonas seemed speechless with the impressive win and wrote, "Wow." Hollywood comedienne Iliza Shlesinger was also in awe of Rousey, writing how she "was such a champion" and "it was such a tremendous joy to watch you dominate."

The Entertainment Tonight report even listed boxing champ Sugar Ray Leonard's Twitter message that described Rousey as "amazing" and a "beast." Leonard finished his message with "congrats!" Meanwhile, former "Saints" defensive lineman Will Smith compared the UFC fighter to another athlete. Smith wrote that Rousey is a "female version of #miketyson." The UFC champion also took to Twitter and shared a picture of herself walking arm-in-arm with her family after the fight. Rousey captioned the photo, "Walking out with my family is the greatest feeling ever...."
