The DC universe just got bigger with the appearance of a new superhero. It was announced that Hawkman will join Ciara Renee's Hawkgirl in "Legends of Tomorrow" in 2016. Screenrush reports that the actor playing the role will be Falk Hentschel.
It was earlier reported that Hentschel's character will first appear on either "Arrow" or "The Flash." However, it turns out that Hawkman will appear in both shows in a possible crossover. Carter Hall, Hawkman's other persona, is said to appear in the end of the year crossover event of "Arrow" and "The Flash."
According to IGN, Hentschel also appeared in other television series like "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." and "NCIS: Los Angeles." He was also part of the movies "The Transcendence" and "White House Down." The German actor is set to appear for about 15 episodes in "Legends of Tomorrow" alongside its main cast, which includes Victor Garber as Dr. Martin Stein, Brandon Routh as Ray Palmer, Dominic Purcell as Heat Wave and Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold.
According to the official character description, Hawkman will emerge as the latest reincarnation of an Egyptian prince that was reborn through time. He then taps into the powers of the Hawk God just like his fellow reincarnated soulmate Kendra Saunders. Just like Hawkgirl, Hawkman can access the powers of Hawk God Horus by transforming into the winged warrior.
Executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed in the recent San Diego Comic-Con event that the first few episodes of "Arrow" and "The Flash" will focus on how certain characters would end up on the spinoff series, "Legends of Tomorrow."
Fans will just have to wait when Hawkman will appear, as "Arrow" and "The Flash" will air starting October, while "Legends of Tomorrow" will debut in 2016.
