Hell's Kitchen and Master Chef Junior's Executive Producer, Chef Gordon Ramsay, also known for being foul-mouthed on the set, gave up his £4.4million (about $6.8 million) property for another purchase. The Scottish is now the owner of a country home in the village of Rock, which lies on the Southwest coast of England in Cornwall, Curbed news reports.
The purchase that was completed in June was the most expensive sale in the area this year and the second priciest in record.
According to a report by the Express, the house in Cornwall lies in 1.4 acres of land and lies on the seaside. The house offers five bedrooms, two bathrooms and two reception rooms. As for the chef's new workstation, it was described by the estate agent as a pretty little kitchen in need of modernization.
If Ramsay wanted to renovate his new kitchen, choosing to add a sky-high figure would bring his kitchen up to spec, similar to the one in his multi-million pound London home.
Aside from the luxurious interior amenities, the pricey property also offers a 40-meter water frontage for sailing and water skiing. There is also an additional private step to the beach as a sign of exclusivity, The Sun reported.
But one Cornwall resident was not happy about the purchase. One local said to the Express that, "£4.5million wouldn't be affordable to most people round here. It's a shame the local community are being driven out. The sorts of people that move here aren't really helping the community much. It brings jobs, and it is good for tourism, but it is dead in the winter."
The house went 25 times higher than the average cost of a home in Cornwall. Meanwhile, the chef and his wife Tana will be paying another £440,000 for the stamp duty, making the property's price to rise up to about £5 million.
It is not surprising that the 48-year-old chef would be able to buy this "pricey" property because he undoubtedly has a huge wealth. As a matter of fact, he also owns a home in Los Angeles and recently spent £1 million on a Ferrari.
