Reba McEntire and Husband/Manager Narvel Blackstock Separate after 26 Years

After 26 years of being happily married, country singer Reba McEntire and her husband and manager Narvel Blackstock have decided to cut the marital ties between them.

Reba McEntire, 60, and Narvel Blackstock, 58, by the means of their representative, posted their joint statement on Reba's personal website.

"In a joint statement, Narvel Blackstock and Reba McEntire have announced that they have been separated for the past few months, after 26 years of marriage. Despite this being the end of their marriage, they continue to support each other. They have worked together for 35 years and will continue to do so. They have asked that you respect their privacy during this time," the representative stated.

The former couple was last seen together when McEntire was being honored during the Academy of Country Music Awards in Texas.

Blackstock is McEntire's manager and plans to continue being her manager even after the split.

In her interview with People last July 14, Reba admitted that her husband still gives her the feels and sparks. When asked about when her last kiss was, McEntire answered, "That would be [my husband] Narvel, right before he left town. He's in Los Angeles for work, and I'm taking care of business here in Nashville. I miss him when we're apart. But we never leave each other without a kiss and an "I love you.""

McEntire is a native of Oklahoma. She became famous in the music industry during the 1980s and had hits such as "Can't Even Get the Blues," "Somebody Should Leave" and "Walk On." She's also made a name for herself as an actress, starring in the TV sitcom "Reba."

McEntire and Blackstock have a son together, Shelby Blackstock, who's a racecar driver.

Blackstock also has three other offsprings, Shawna Rene, Chassidy Celeste, and Brandon Blackstock.

Even in the midst of the separation, McEntire teased fans Monday morning that a new single will be announced Wednesday.
