"You Raise Me Up" singer Josh Groban just can't seem to catch a break in the real estate industry. The singer again listed his Malibu mansion for sale and slashed the asking price to $4.695 million.
The multi-awarded musician purchased his Malibu retreat in August 2005 for $4.125 million, reports Variety, and has had it on and off the real estate market at prices even lower than previous listings. Groban first put on the property on sale in 2010 with an asking price of $6.1 million, unfortunately it failed to attract homebuyers.
The 1.88 acre Point Dume property features a "Tuscan villa" style home with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The 3,294 square feet multi-level residence has a long and narrow bi-level entrance hall, with a formal dining room that has beamed ceilings overlooking a double-height living room. A fireplace adorns the living room, along with a quartet of towering arched windows that opens up to a terrace and grassy yard.
Groban's expansive Malibu mansion also has a games/billiard room that has a walk in wet bar and French door access to the outdoors. The house has a partly wood-paneled library/den that has a high coffered ceiling, carved stone fireplace, and arched French doors. The kitchen features a center island with high quality granite counter tops, two dishwashers, full-size side-by-side fridge and freezer, and a built-in breakfast banquette. The main living spaces have stone tiled floors, which extends over to the master suite that has a walk in-closet and dressing area, a roomy bathroom, and an awning-shaded balcony.
The gated property also has a separate two-story guesthouse with its own gated entrance, open plan living space and kitchen. The guesthouse has two bedrooms, one bath and a dedicated two-car garage. Located on the grounds of Groban's Point Dume property is an outdoor kitchen and barbeque station, a dining terrace with outdoor fireplace, a spa, lighted tennis court and a swimming pool. The property comes with its own deeded beach rights and access to a private beach.
The singer, whose net worth is $30 million, states Celebrity Glory, has been having trouble offloading his Malibu mansion. Hopefully Groban could make his magic work this time, the same one which enabled him to sell over 20 million records in his career.
