'Community' Season 7 Renewal: Joel McHale Confirms Season 6 As Final Season But Hopes For A Possible Movie

Fans of the comedy series "Community" is still hoping that the show's Season 6 won't be its last. However, according to Entertainment Weekly, one of its stars confirmed that Season 6 will be the show's final season.

In his recent interview, Joel McHale said that their contracts were up after six years. He also added that after the show, he is sure that all of the actor's worth is now larger than before that is why there could be a lack of budget to continue the show for another season.

In Variety's report, a representative for Sony Pictures TV, the producer of the show, said that the TV series has yet to be officially canceled. Yahoo, the streaming service and home of the show after NBC cancelled it after five seasons, revealed in a statement that they see a tremendous potential with their partnership with Sony and they are still continuing to discuss the future of the show.

One of the stars, Ken Jeong, expressed his disappointment about the show not having more seasons. He is also hoping that the production will plan for the show to have a movie soon. In his interview, show creator Dan Harmon revealed that he still can't think about writing a movie for the show until he misses the show.

"Community" was cancelled by NBC last year after airing five seasons, and the show was revived for a sixth season by Yahoo. In June, the show finished its 13-episode run.

In the last San Comic-Con panel event, Harmon teased fans for a possible "Community" movie. He said that fans will have to wait for the cast to have "awesome careers" before they get together again for an incredible movie.

True enough, it was reported that some of its cast members had a step up in their acting careers. McHale is the host of E!'s "The Soup" and is also set to appear on Fox's upcoming reboot of "The X-Files."
