Movies to Watch this August

Heads up, movie fanatics!

The list of the most awaited movies for the month of August has been released by The Movie Insider and yes, most of them are top notch and jaw breaking; book lovers would be thrilled to know that most movies this month would mostly be adaptations from their favorite books. Listed below are a few movie adaptation mostly from books that would be screened this month and a little sneak peek on what is it about as BBC dished out the synopsis for some films and its makers.

"The Little Prince"

A movie adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's classic 1943 novella, this stop-motion animation is one of the most awaited movies to hit the theaters worldwide as the generation that fell inlove with the book will be taking a trip down memory lane. "The Little Prince" will once again stir a dash of nostalgia as he will be bought to life by the director of Kung-Fu Panda, Mark Osborne, and a beautiful screenplay by both Irena Brignull and Bob Perichetti. Big names will be bringing this tale to life as actors James Franco, Rachel McAdams, Benicio Del Toro, and Marion Cotillard will be lending their voices for the animation. It would soon be released in Poland on Aug. 4 and Aug. 20 in Brazil.

"The Diary of a Teenage Girl"

Coming from a graphic novel of Phoebe Gloeckner, this film was already premiered in the Sundance Festival this January directed by Marielle Heller and was portrayed by Bel Powley. The story revolved around a girl as she navigated an affair with her mother's boyfriend which is set in San Francisco with a 1970's setting.

"Z for Zachariah"

A science fiction novel written by renowned author Robert C O'Brien in 1947, it would be brought to the big screen by Craig Zobel. The movie revolved around the story of a small town girl in a post-apocalyptic love triangle which would be played by Margot Robbie alongside Chris Pine and Chiwetel Ejiofor. The movie will be released in the 13th of August in Denmark and 28th in the US.
