Despite being busy with an Amazon TV series, Woody Allen still has time to make another film this year. Vanity Fair reported that the new film is now in production in New York and Los Angeles.
Rumors are circulating that both "Twilight Saga" star Kristen Stewart and "Gossip Girl" alum Blake Lively are battling it out to be Allen's new female lead. In the report, it was revealed that the two actresses are listed in the main cast lineup alongside Jesse Eisenberg, Parker Posey, Jeannie Berlin, Corey Stoll, Ken Stott, and Bruce Willis. As of writing, there is still no clue as to what their roles will be. Anna Camp and Paul Schneider are also listed as the actresses' co-stars.
According to Entertainment Weekly, this will be the third film Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg will appear in together. The duo has already worked together in "Adventureland" in 2009 as well as the recent film, "American Ultra." Stewart, Eisenberg and Willis were the first stars speculated to be included in the Allen film back in March. This was the only time the production confirmed the stars' participation.
The film will be produced by Allen's longtime collaborators, Letty Aronson, Steve Tenenbaum and Edward Walson. According to Yahoo, this will be the return to New York film for Allen. Allen earlier pledged that he will never go back to the Big Apple because of its "prohibitive expense."
Some of his last few films were located in Rhode Island, France, San Francisco, Paris and UK. The film also marks the filmmaker's return to Los Angeles. The last time Allen made a film in that location was back in 1977.
This will also not be the first time for some of the film's stars to work with Allen. Eisenberg starred with the director in "To Rome With Love," Posey recently starred in Allen's latest film, "Irrational Man," and Stoll worked with Allen in "Midnight in Paris."
