On Tuesday, game developer Konami Digital Entertainment has announced that the multiplayer mode in "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" will not be available at launch. The game developer said that it will roll out the multiplayer mode weeks after the video game is launched.
The multiplayer mode, as Konami claims, will be released on October 6 in various gaming consoles, while the PC version will be available in January 2016, a report from Gamespot said on Tuesday.
"We initially did not think it would be possible to get such an epic game out onto PC in time for launch alongside its console counterparts, but all involved have worked diligently to meet the demands of our PC consumers. Now PC users will be able to explore the vibrant and beautifully-realised locations and set-pieces that elevate 'Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain' beyond all other action titles. We feel confident that Steam users will be satisfied with the contents we will provide for the Steam version," said Tomotada Tashiro, President of Konami Digital Entertainment in a press release.
According to the aforementioned website, Konami explained that the September 15 launch date was actually the company's response to the calls of various PC users who wanted an earlier release date. Furthermore, the company said that the PC edition of the "Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain" will also be available through a pre-order in Steam for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 editions.
Avid fans who reportedly pre-ordered PC copies of the video game via Steam will be able to receive a copy of "Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes." Konami also announced that all Steam customers will have the chance to receive a collector's video which includes a behind-the-scenes footage as well as a documentary, according to Gamespot.
