After the show's recent season finale, fans are eagerly waiting if Season 2 for "Wayward Pines" will be happening anytime soon.
According to Christian Today, plot points were not revealed but there is a lot of speculation that Season 2 would follow the story of Ben Burke (Charlie Tahan) as he leads a revolution against the First Generation which was led by Jason (Tom Stevens). Reports state that Burke may not be the only possible main character as there are rumors that that Adam Hassler (Tim Griffin) might be one of the main characters if Fox decides to renew the show for Season 2.
Crossmap reported that Fox already confirmed earlier that the show won't be renewed for Season 2. However, when the show had over 3.9 million views for the season finale, it was reported that Fox might change their minds.
Shyamalan revealed that they were surprised and humbled at the same time about the reaction of the viewers to the show. However, if Fox decides to end the show completely, Shyamalan revealed that he is happy to walk away since the show received wonderful reaction from its viewers.
Towards the finale of Season 1, it was revealed that Hassler was previously put to sleep and then awoke to discover that the future was populated by mutated humans and that Wayward Pines was the only place that was populated by humans. He then led a group of survivors to the outside world and went as far as San Francisco which they discovered to be in ruins. The group was then attacked by Abbies and many fans speculated that Hassler may be the only survivor and will try to head back to Wayward Pines.
