Luxury hotel firm Nayara has started its construction project of a luxury hotel in Puerto Rico. The new hotel will be located in the Toro Verde mountain country.
According to ETN, the hotel will be called Nayara Toro Verde Hotel. The said construction is a welcome addition to the booming tourism sector of Puerto Rico.
Carribean Journal reports that the Tourism Company of Puerto Rico (PRTC) deems that the project will create 100 jobs during the construction phase and at the same time boost the country's economy by approximately $6 million.
"In addition to the prestige that the construction of a Nayara hotel brings to our destination's tourism industry, the project also represents an important initiative for the economic development of the mountain region and Puerto Rico," Ingrid I. Rivera Rocafort, executive director of the PRTC, said. "The first phase of the construction process represents a $2.5 million investment which will create between 50 and 60 jobs. In its operational phase, the hotel will employ between 50 and 60 additional individuals."
Among the expected features of the new luxury hotel are 20 cabins, a lobby, common guest areas and a swimming pool. The project is geared to be an "eco-touristic development."
The first part of the project dubbed as "El Laberinto del Toro" has been announced by Toro Verde CEO Jorge Jorge. It is a ropes course attraction showcasing canopies, obstacles and rapeling features designed for teambuilding activities, workshops and even birthdays.
A few months back, it was reported that Puerto Rico is poised to be one of the world's top luxury real estate markets despite the country's current economic crisis. According to the report, various investors are taking the risk in entering the market, which now sees various luxury hotels being built. The report further stated that Puerto Rico is "ripe with opportunity."
