Gaze In Wonder At These High-End Homes

The houses of the future are here, quite literally.

Not only do cars get an overhaul in terms of innovation in appearance and performance, even architecture geniuses like Ricardo Bofill are venturing into the digital arena of developing "superhouses".

According to an article on penguin.com.au, author Karen McCartney shares beautiful photos of what she dubs as "superhouses". She was quoted as saying (on her definition of the term), "A super house is one that delivers a 360-degree completeness of form, its exterior and interior have a seamless execution and, above all else, it is awe-inspiring...A strong connection with nature would provide the choice of projects with a necessary thread of coherence.' So while each house had to deliver 'beyond normal' it also had to possess qualities that superseded those that money alone could buy."

Another article on theguardian.com mentioned McCartney's desire to give audiences the fantasy of what a dream home can look like not just only through financial security or showing off one's status in society. She aims to offer viewers a 360 degree view of the aesthetics and brilliance delivered in the design of these houses, offering what can be achieved beyond normal, and eventually will be a part of a worldly architectural lineage. She also wishes for future generations to get a firsthand experience of what future houses might be through the lens of photographer Richard Powers, who traveled globally to capture these architectural designs in their true form. In the book, the author labels her most preferred houses which showcases what a "superhouse" really means.

True, words alone cannot easily describe how a regular homeowner would feel at the depth of what it might be like to live in such a house. Sure enough the essence captured in the houses featured in the upcoming coffee book is like going through the looking glass.
