Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum: May or May Not Be the Host of the 2016 NFL

It has been an issue for quite some time now that the National Football League is looking for a place to hold the 2016 competition. The NFL is the country's most favorable sport, but the venue for next year is yet to be established and finalized.

According to a report by the Los Angeles Times, there has been a shared stadium plan in Inglewood, and that plan was formulated between the San Diego Chargers and the Oakland Raiders. They both shared a stadium concept, similar to Carson and the St. Louis Rams.

The NFL's senior vice president who is the league's point man on the L.A. market, Eric Grubman, said to the Los Angeles Times: "We've really just begun, August 5 was a date that helped us know what venues might be available in a traditional sense and I think that has sorted itself out. Other, more complex opportunities could very well present themselves as the picture becomes clearer."

Rose Bowl Operating co-president and Pasadena City Councilman Victor Gordo said Monday that, "The position of the board remains the same; the RBOC is focused on bringing a world-class music and arts festival to Pasadena."

However, according to a news report by L.A. Curbed, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was considered as the front-liner for the temporary venue of the NFL. It was so unfortunate because apparently there had already been two stadiums that have reportedly backed out of the event. In this case, there might be no other choice but to select the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, as the deadline for the submission of proposal was also last August 5th.

The baseball stadiums won't be a good choice due to the games' schedule overlap. Football games would be in August and September. To make the matters worse, there is an uncertainty about exactly how many years L.A.'s future team might need their temporary home, L.A. Curbed reported.

The submission of proposal was already closed and the finalization of the agreements will be expected to come out during the Fall season.
