Salma Hayek is busy making rounds in Tinseltown to promote her new animated movie, "The Prophet", and bravely shares her thoughts on presidential candidate Donald Trump's remarks regarding immigrants in America.
A recent appearance in "Good Morning America" on Wednesday gave Salma Hayek another chance to provide viewers what it meant to have immigrants be treated as equally important as the people in America. Trump had received continuous negative feedback on his anti-illegal immigrants comment, according to the dailymail.co.uk.
Ms. Hayek was quoted as saying "Immigrants are an important force of work in the United States - anybody that's informed knows this... They use the issue to polarise to get votes."
Another article from independent.co.uk cited Salma's reaction to Mr. Trump's right to freedom of speech with a "everyone has the right to be dumb". And another "Everybody's entitled to have uninformed opinion. Everybody's entitled to be dumb. But I'm not dumb, so I see through the manipulation. We have something to learn from this."
A previous article from businessinsider.com mentioned "The Donald's" apparently not backing down on his stance regarding Mexican immigrants in particular. Trump gave a 3-page statement on this issue and was quoted as saying ""The largest suppliers of heroin, cocaine and other illicit drugs are Mexican cartels that arrange to have Mexican immigrants trying to cross the borders and smuggle in the drugs. The Border Patrol knows this...Likewise, tremendous infectious disease is pouring across the border. The United States has become a dumping ground for Mexico and, in fact, for many other parts of the world." These are pretty rough words coming from the 2016 presidential candidate.
Outrage sparks flew not long after Donald Trump's series of political views elaborated during his campaign. However, he seems unfazed over the news of major corporations ending their ties with him. More on the story here.
