It was earlier revealed that Greer's (Celina Sinden) new love interest would be revealed in the upcoming season of "Reign." According to Fashion & Style, showrunner Laurie McCarthy said in an interview that Greer's new love is "sexy and adorable."
Some speculated that her new love interest could be Martin (Saamer Usmani), as the fearless pirate is set to arrive in Season 3. However, it was reported that Greer will have a romantic relationship with a new English nobleman. According to the site, this could also mean that Greer will possibly have two love interests in the upcoming season.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, McCarthy revealed that Season 3 will be traveling to the Elizabethan court, and Megan Follows, was confirmed as guest, to play Catherine de Medici. She added that Catherine will have a very personal alliance with Elizabeth, who is played by Rachel Skarsten.
Another new cast member is joining the show as McCarthy revealed that Tom Everett Scott will be joining Season 3 as William. The character was described as a trusted advisor of Queen Elizabeth.
Aside from William, there will also be a new man by Elizabeth's side, and the show will be introducing the character, Robert Dudley. The character was described by McCarthy as a "historical love interest for Elizabeth." Robert and Elizabeth are said to be childhood friends, and even though Robert wants to move on from their past, the Queen uses her powers to keep him close.
It was also revealed that Elizabeth will be involved in a love triangle with Robert Dudley and his wife, Amy, who was described as someone who seems very sweet but may not be sweet on the inside. McCarthy said that the rivalry between Elizabeth and Amy will cause trouble for Elizabeth as she describes Amy as "a little nuts."
"Reign" Season 3 will air on The CW on October 9.
