'Dr. Dre' Donating Royalties of New Album to Fund Art Center and Entertainment Facility in Compton

The American record producer, rapper and entrepreneur, Andre Romelle Young, known by his stage name Dr. Dre is going to make a new album. While others may think that making an album may sound usual for him, try adding into the equation the fact that Dr. Dre would be donating the royalties of the album.

Yes, Dr. Dre, who produced albums for and overseen the careers of many known rappers, such as Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Xzibit, and 50 Cent, would be doing something special. He announced on a radio program that he would be donating all of his royalties from the coming album in order to help fund a new performing arts and entertainment facility in Compton.

Together with this philanthropic act, Dr. Dre would be helped by Compton Mayor Aja Brown. According to rollingstone, Dr. Dre has wanted to do something special for Compton. And on the same website Dr. Dre said that;

"We've reached out to Aja Brown quite a few times in the last month or two...I've been really trying to do something special for Compton and just couldn't quite figure out what it was. She actually had this idea and she was already in the process of working on it. I said, 'Boom, this is what we should do."

Compton was actually chosen by Dr. Dre in order to do something return for the favor that the city has shown to him and his N.W.A band mates band mates as seen in their 1988 début album, "Straight Outta Compton."

In response to the kind intention, Brown as quoted on latimes, said that; "He clearly has a heart for Compton, especially our youth, I believe this performing arts center will provide a pathway for creative expression, exposure and training to the myriad of industries that support arts, entertainment and technology - while providing a much-needed safe haven for our youth."

Though details of the of the new performing arts center are yet to be revealed in the coming weeks, the city mayor together with the people of Compton are happy that Dr. Dre has not forgotten his root.
