‘Final Fantasy XV’ Release Date: Game Not Happening This Year, Launches in 2016

Avid fans of the "Final Fantasy XV" will have to wait a little longer after a new report has stated that the popular video game will be officially launched in 2016. "Final Fantasy XV" Director Hajime Tabata has been quoted in several online reports confirming that fans will be able to play the game before 2017, a report from iDigitalTimes said on Thursday.

"At the very least, I can tell you that it isn't going to be released this year. I think we'll be able to tell you when we're making the announcement around PAX Prime, at the end of this month. I understand why people are feeling that way after coming to Cologne and speaking to a lot of the media. We really do get the feeling that people are a bit worried. Certainly, one thing I would like to say to them to reassure them, is that we've set down the release date, we know when it is, and we've got a complete road map lined up, right up to launch, and we're proceeding along that as planned," Hajime Tabata, game director of "Final Fantasy XV," said, as quoted by Gamespot.

The long development process and lack of announcements about the "Final Fantasy XV" video game has reportedly left avid fans of the video game frustrated. "We can certainly say to people: it's not going to be 2017. It's going to be before that," said Tabata as he reassured fans, hinting that the game will likely have a 2016 launch.

As iDigitalTimes reported, Tabata has stressed that a 2016 launch date will push through. "We really wanted to say something else, so we've got something we'd like to say - you won't be waiting until 2017. We want to get that across. We want to reassure people that we are going to get it out," Tabata added.
