'Scream Queens' 2015 Cast Updates: FX Series' Outcasts Named; Lea Michele Says She Didn't Have Difficulty Playing Her Role

The three outcasts for the upcoming first season of "Scream Queens" have just been named, and it includes Lea Michele, Keke Palmer and Skyler Samuels.

In an interview with TV Line, Michele revealed how she was cast to play the role of Hester. According to the "Glee" alum, series creator Ryan Murphy asked her to audition for the role because he was worried that Michele would suffer from a post-"Glee" meltdown. Although this was merely a joke, Michele auditioned and was cast by Murphy immediately.

Michele also talked about her role Hester, a young college student who desperately wants to be part of a sorority. However, Hester's neck brace and her aura could make it difficult for her to achieve her ultimate dream.

Meanwhile, Palmer will play the role of Hayday, an intelligent and driven young woman who got into college because of a scholarship grant. Hayday is considered an outcast because she has few friends compared to the Chanels.

Samuels, on the other hand, plays the role of Grace, a conflicted young woman who also happens to be an only child. Grace grew up into a not-so-peaceful household and she's extremely close with Hayday.

In other news, ahead of "Scream Queens'" premiere in the fall, there have been reports that the series will be more cartoonish compared to "American Horror Story."

During an interview with IGN, series creator Muprhy said, "I think that 'Scream Queens' has a much more satirical, cartoonish quality to the attacks that 'American Horror Story' does, which is much more sexualized and darker at times. And yes, we have had healthy discussions with broadcast standards," he said.

"Scream Queens" also stars Emma Roberts, Ariana Grande, Abigail Breslin, Billie Catherine Lourd, Grace Phipps, Oliver Hudson, Glen Powell and more. The series will premiere on the FX sometime in the fall.
