Two World Trade Center will be located in 200 Greenwich St. and bound by Church Street to the east, Vesey Street to the north and Fulton Street to the south, as mentioned in the official website of World Trade Center. The website added that the Two World Trade Center will have 80+ storeys with 1,340 feet tall, 40 feet high office lobby, and a 2.8 million rentable square feet of space.
In a previous article from Curbed, 21st Century Fox and News Corp. have signed a non-binding tenancy agreement to occupy the lower half of the tower. The article also posted a video about the tower and its design, and some pictures of the Two World Trade Center.
An article from NYPost reported that Larry Silverstein is looking for an equity partner or mezzanine debt investor to contribute $500 million in the tab to develop Two World Trade Center. Bjarke Ingels, one of the rising stars of the architecture world will designed the skyscraper, as mentioned in an article in Capital New York.
The team of Bjarke Ingles is facing a problem wherein a system ventilation equipment cannot be moved and must remain operational because it circulates air for the transit hub and underground stairwells, as reported in an article from Capital New York.
Bjarke Ingels said, "I think you probably couldn't find a more difficult place in the world to build a 1,300-foot tower."
To solve the problem, Ingles' team has been asked to figure out how to weave the building's support columns throughout all the machinery, as the article added.
The article from Curbed added that the completion date will be in September 2021, the 20th anniversary of the attack.
In a fact sheet released by Larry Silverstein, Two World Trade Center is the capstone in the redevelopment of the World Trade Center and the final component of the revitalization of Lower Manhattan. Furthermore, the tower will raise alongside the One World Trade Center, Three World Trade Center, and Four World Trade Center.
