Netflix 'Sense8' News, Update: Sci-Fi Drama Confirmed for Season 2

It is confirmed, Nexflix's "Sense8" will return for season 2.

According to The Verge, the announcement was made last Saturday via Netflix through twitter with a video message by the casts. The casts greeted "Happy Birthday" to the program and revealed its forthcoming Season 2.

The tweet says "Birthdays are just the beginning. #sense8 is reborn."

The American sci-fi drama was witten and produced by Andy and Lana Wachowski and Joseph Michael Straczynski. "Sense8" plot centered around eight strangers from different origins all over the world that were bound by an emotional and mental link. The drama was shot in major cities of eight countries: Chicago, San Francisco, London, Berlin, Seoul, Reykjavik, Mexico City, Nairobi and Mumbai. They also shot winter scenes in Iceland.

The drama also featured some famous event or culture from other countries like a Bollywood Dance and lucha libre (Mexican professional wrestling). It also featured some famous artworks by selected artists by Clarion Alley Mural Project.

According to THR, Straczynski said from TCA's summer press tour that "There's been a tendency for science fiction to be seen as something other than for adults - it tends to be about either the MacGuffin, the device, the magic, the gadget, the gimmick or the mission. We wanted to make this show about the journey and [do something] for grown-ups."

"Sense8" cast include Aml Ameen (Capheus), Bae Doona (Sun Bak), Jamie Clayton (Nomi Marks), Tina Desai (Kala Dandekar), Tuppence Middleton (Riley Blue), Max Riemelt (Wolfgang Bogdanow), Miguel Angel Silvestre (Lito Rodriguez), Brian J. Smith (Will Gorski). The drama drew attention in tackling subtle issues about politics, identity, gender, and religion. The first season aired last June 5, 2015 and had 12 episodes.

There were no dates yet confirmed for the airing of "Sense8's" season two as of now.
