It has only been four episodes into Season 2 of FX TV's "The Strain," but it was already confirmed that the show has been renewed for Season 3. According to International Business Times, Eph (Corey Stoll) will still continue to fight the war against the Master in Season 3.
The renewal was announced at the recent Television Critics Association (TCA) fall previews on Friday, August 7. The president of original programming of FX Networks and FX Productions, Eric Schrier, revealed in the event that he is excited to see Guillermo del Toro and Carlton Cuse to continue working on the television adaptation of the original "The Strain" trilogy novel.
Schrier said that both creators have delivered two astounding and thrilling seasons which are "captivating and visually arresting." He believes that the two have done justice to the original novel trilogy and have met fans' high expectations that are based on the popular novel.
Cuse also revealed in an interview that the show is planned to run for about three to five seasons. They are also writing the plot of the story based on the novel.
In Season 2 of "The Strain," fans are still waiting if Quinlan will make an appearance. Quinlan is the member of The Born, which is a rare vampire/human hybrid. He is also the son of The Master. The character hasn't appeared in the show yet, but since the character Vaun (Stephen McHattie) wasn't named in Season 1, fans assumed that Vaun was Quinlan.
However, according to IGN, in the beginning of Season 2, Vaun introduced himself as Setrakian, so fans are still waiting when Quinlan will appear in the show. In the recent panel event, the producers revealed that they are working on how they are going to work on the character. Del Torro even noted that Quinlan is his most favorite character in the book.
