The game last Sunday afternoon between Boston Red Sox and Detroit Tigers ended with Sox having the series victory. The 7-2 win that culminated at Comerica Park catapulted the Red Sox rookie lefty Henry Owens to one his first big league victory, while Bradley Jr. notched five RBIs or runs batted in during the said series.
Making his second Major League start victory over the Tigers, Owens is happy to have passed over those "welcome to big leagues" nerves thing. As stated on mlb Owens said,
"I think, probably these last two starts, looking back, I can kind of trust myself in the zone more, rather than tinker around the strike zone...It's good to get these first two out of the way, and the first zone, set my shoulders back, take a deep breath and move on."
During the game, Owens limited the opposing team to one run on three hits, but walked four in five innings. On the other hand, Bradley Jr. drove in five of the six run for the winning team. Bradley Jr.'s career performance at the plate and in the field is undoubtedly nothing new, even the Owens affirmed to the performance of his teammate stating that;
"He's one of the best in the game, if not the best [defensively]...That ball, that Willie Mays ball he had over his head, I was walking back to the dugout because I knew he had a bead on it. That's how good he is, that's how confident I am in him. Also, [he] swung the bat great. Couldn't happen to a better guy. He's been working really hard. I knew he had it. I've seen it too many times, it's routine."
After the series accomplishment against the Tigers, the Red Sox gets a Monday off before they would be facing the Marlins on Wednesday at Marlins Park, Miami, Florida.
