The American Romantic Comedy first premiered on Fox last September 25, 2012 but was cancelled after its 3rd season which only ran until March 24, 2015. "The Mindy Project" fans are bummed to hear that their favorite sitcom has been cancelled, but heads up people! Los Angeles Times confirmed the speculations that "The Mindy Project" is making a comeback and the premiere date has been released!
The show would return on September 15 of this year as the "The Mindy Project" season 4 will soon begin, and can only be viewed online as Hulu took over in having it released.
Mindy Kaling, the series' main star was more than thrilled to be back stating:
"I feel, personally, I wasn't ready to say goodbye to the show, And I'm so grateful to Hulu for giving us this opportunity. I just want to make the show better than it's ever been.... It went from being, 'oh, we're never going to do the show again' to 'we're going to have more work than we've ever had.'"
Morgan, who's being played by Ike Barinholtz, dished out some details on E! regarding the upcoming series:
"If we made the show risqué, we would turn off some of our viewers," Barinholtz stated during the 2015 Summer TCA press tour. "So we're not changing the show in a big way. But there is a little more freedom which is nice for us. There's freedom in being able to tell a joke and not have to neuter it. It's a much more fertile ground for comedy."
Mindy Kaling (Mindy) then added details on what to expect:
"We always thought it was funny that an OB-GYN would have an accidental pregnancy, it's brought out really funny sides of Mindy and Danny's personalities."
Matt Warburton, the executive producer excitedly announced Mindy's child birth chronicles:
"She's at square one when the baby pops out,"
Kailing then added:
"We have a road trip episode coming up, that is just these guys, it's going to be a disaster."
