Former Yahoo! President selling Napa estate

Former Yahoo! president and COO Jeff Mallett listed his Vineyard Knolls in Napa Valley, California for $17.5 million.

According to Trulia, the massive property is spread over 25 acres with its own private, 9-hole NCGA sanctioned golf course.

The property was originally Napa’s first municipal golf course and called Little Knolls but turned into a private estate when it was bought by a Hollywood movie producer, from whom Mallett purchased the property.

The main house sprawls over 7,500 square feet. It comes with a separate home for a caretaker, a 6,400+ square foot clubhouse with its own banquet room and commercial kitchen. The property also has two lakes and the standard pool, tennis court, and croquet lawn that comes with a property of this caliber.

Mallett was hired by Jerry Yang to be Yahoo!’s president and COO back in 1995 when the company was only 11 employees strong.

His tenure of 7 years saw Yahoo! grow to 4,000 employees and included taking Yahoo! public. Mallett is a big sports fan and is currently a principal owner of the San Francisco Giants.
