"Orange is the New Black" star Ruby Rose recently sparked outrage for posting a controversial Instagram photo with Floyd Mayweather Jr. Just recently, Rose visited Mayweather Jr. during his training for an upcoming boxing match. The fan of the boxing champion then posed for a photo with her idol and then posted it on her social media account. However, immediately after, thousands of fans commented negatively on the photo.
Fans were enraged over the fact that Rose idolizes Mayweather Jr., a man who allegedly brutalizes women. Some fans noted that they will no longer follow Rose and other claimed that they will no longer support her because she likes the boxer, according to Christian Post.
According to the publication, Mayweather Jr. has been charged with domestic battery several times since 2002. In 2011, he was sentenced with 90 days imprisonment after he pled guilty to domestic violence and misdemeanor charges.
Meanwhile, Rose did not deliberately respond to her fans, but it seems that the actress has moved on from the issue. Just recently, the Australian star was spotted walking around with a huge smile on her face.
According to the Daily Mail, Rose just landed back in California after she enjoyed a brief vacation in Ibiza. At that time, Rose wasn't joined by her fiancée Phoebe Dahl because the latter was busy promoting her clothing brand.
In other news, Dahl, the granddaughter of the famous children's book author Roald Dahl, recently spoke with Hello! about her relationship with Rose.
"Do I believe in love at first sight? I didn't before Ruby but now I do. I have to! It happened to me. I met Ruby at a barbecue I threw a year and a half ago and we got engaged within about three months. It's all very instant... Honestly, we're not really apart that often," she said.
Rose could be seen on "Orange is the New Black" as Stella.
