TCA Awards 2015: Amy Schumer Grabs Awards, 'Empire' Won Program of the Year

Although snubbed by Emmy, "Empire" got a bit compensated with appreciation and attention in the recent Television Critics Association Awards.

Amy Schumer snagged trophies as well, including the Outstanding Achievement in Comedy and Outstanding Individual Achievement in Comedy - all for "Inside Amy Schumer" of Comedy Central.

Below are the list of nominees and winners of the Television Critics Association Awards:

For the Program of the Year nominees, "The Americans" by FX; "Empire" by Fox; "Game of Thrones" by HBO; "Mad Men" by AMC; and "Transparent" by Amazon. The award however, went to "Empire."

For the Outstanding New Program, nominees included "Better Call Saul" by AMC; "Empire" by Fox; "The Flash" by The CW; "Jane the Virgin" by The CW; and "Transparent" by Amazon. "Better Call Saul" took home the award.

For the Outstanding Achievement in Comedy award, the nominees are "The Big Bang Theory" by CBS; "Inside Amy Schumer" by Comedy Central; "Jane the Virgin" by The CW; "Transparent" by Amazon; and "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmith" by Netflix. The award was given to "Inside Amy Schumer."

The Individual Achievement in Comedy award nominees include Julia Louis-Dreyfus for "Veep"; Gina Rodriguez for "Jane the Virgin"; Amy Schumer for "Inside Amy Schumer"; Jeffrey Tambor for "Transparent"; and Constance Wu for "Fresh Off the Boat." Amy Schumer won the award.

The nominees for Outstanding Achievement in Drama are "The Americans" by FX; "Empire" by Fox; "Game of Thrones" by HBO; and "Justified" by FX. "The Americans" won the award.

Other award winners are HBO's "Last Week Tonight with John Oliver" for Outstanding Achievement in News Information; "The Chair" by Starz for Outstanding Achievement in Reality Programming; "The Fosters" by ABC Family for Outstanding Achievement in Reality Programming; and HBO's "The Jinx: The Life and Deaths of Robert Durst" for Outstanding Achievement in Movies, Ministries, and Specials.

The 31st Television Critics Association Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills. Awards were also given to pioneers of the TV industry like David Letterman who has been behind the desk for more than 33 years. James L. Brooks was also given a Career Achievement award for his work as a director, producer, and writer.
