The gorgeous home of the late Italian fashion designer Gianni Versace is on the market for a whopping $125 Million, setting the record for the most expensive residential listing in Miami history.
Versace bought the aging apartment building in 1992 for $33 million but renovated it with some of the most extravagant fittings.
Coldwell Banker Residential Real Estate announced the listing for Casa Casuarina on Friday.
In 1997, Versace was gunned down on the steps of the Casa Casuarina while collecting his morning newspapers.
Originally built in 1930, the 10-bedroom, 11-bathroom, gated home features a 54-foot long, thousand mosaic pool. The pool is lined in 24-karat gold, numerous frescos, ornate statues, arched doorways and an open air courtyard.
The home's current owner, telecom entrepreneur Peter Loftin, bought the property in 2000. Coldwell Banker says he preserved and maintained all of Versace's design elements.
