A job listing on the Blizzard Entertainment Careers page has prompted "Diablo 3 (D3)" fans to speculate that the game's expansion is in the works. The company is currently calling for candidates who are passionate in making great games for their "Art Director for an Unannounced Project" post. However, it was the line "a passion for games with a deep understanding of the 'Diablo' franchise" that has led fanatics to think of such plans.
This news is a treat for all "D3" fans since not much has been reported about the game. In the Gamescom event, Blizzard revealed a lot of updates for their other games such as "Starcraft II: Legacy of the Void," "World of Warcraft Legion," and "Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft."
"Diablo 3" has sold 30 millions copies worldwide as of late. IGN reports that Diablo updates and other announcements were also noticeably absent during Blizzard's annual convention, BlizzCon, last year. Last year was very World of Warcraft-centric, and followers are expecting that "Diablo" will be the "star of the show this time around." The next convention will be held in November.
According to Shack News, another speculation for the game was a free-to-play game set in the Diablo Universe, but "considering how popular 'Hearthstone' and 'Heroes of the Storm' have become over the years, developing a new free-to-play game could also be a possibility, although we know there's slim-to-no chance of that being the case here."
"Diablo 3" was initially released May 2012, and the first expansion, "Reaper of Souls," was released March last year.
