  • Second on the list is Honolulu, HI. In this place, real estate is costly. The average home in Honolulu is quite small, and the median takes up only 1,024 square feet as stated in a report by realtor.com. It offers amazing sceneries of the Pacific island.
  • The third surprising location is Detroit. The Motor City has home sizes of around 1,026 square feet even though the whole area has plentiful land. According to a report by realtor.com, "The region, together with the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, has some of the oldest housing stock in the country." 
  • When it comes to providing the best use of limited living space, the homeowners Des Moines, IA has to be resourceful since the home only features a median square footage of 1,096.
  • The fifth one is Yonkers, NY. It is often called as the sixth borough of New York. The usual home size in Yonkers is in 1,100 square feet.
  • The 6th city that has the smallest and largest home size is Washington, DC. The median size housing size in the nation's capital presently stands at 1,154 square feet.
