It has long been confirmed that "Transformers 5" will be released in 2017, but reports are emerging of its possible crossover with another action sci-fi film. According to Movie News Guide, producer Lorenzo Bonaventura revealed in an interview that they may combine "Transformers 5" with the movie "G.I Joe."
This follows the confirmation of the movie's head writer Akiva Goldsman, who said that the movie will follow two storylines. The site reported earlier that the movie might likely feature the Beast Wars, which means that the robots may be transforming into different animals just like the Dinobots in 2014's "Transformers: Age of Extinction." It was presumed that the story will feature Optimus Prime fighting against the Quintessons who are the creators of the Transformers.
As for the movie's cast, Christian Post reported that there are speculations that Bruce Willis and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is set to appear in "Transformers 5." Mark Wahlberg was already confirmed to return for the sequel, and in addition, it was reported that Wahlberg signed for a couple of sequels more.
Another star who is rumored to be making a comeback in the film is Megan Fox. After her rumored drift with the "Transformers" director Michael Bay, the two worked together again in the movie "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle." Reports are circulating that Bay may let Fox return for the fifth installment of the popular franchise.
When asked about returning to the franchise, Fox revealed that she was game with the idea and she also added that she would also be okay to work with Shia LaBeouf again. However, LaBeouf said that if Fox returns for the film, he isn't sure that she would reprise her role as it was already written off in the third film. He also added that he would love to work with Bay in one of his films, but he confirmed that it would not be in another "Transformers" film.
"Transformers 5" is scheduled to be released in July 2017.
