'Suicide Squad' Movie Spoilers & Cast News: Joker Jared Leto Makes 'Killing Joke' Reference

"Suicide Squad" star Jared Leto recently made a "Killing Joke" reference when he recreated the classic cover of the film.

According to Screen Rant, Leto recreated the cover of Joker by aiming the camera at a viewer. David Ayer shared Leto's photo via his Twitter account and wrote, "#WhereIsJared #Suicide Squad."

Meanwhile, the actor once again posed as Joker wearing the famous hat he wore when he shot and paralyzed Batgirl. Although Leto did not directly reference "Killing Joke," fans claimed that the photo had something to do with the graphic novel.

In other news, it has already been confirmed that Leto's Joker will make a cameo in Zack Snyder's "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice." However, it is reportedly only in "Suicide Squad" that Leto's Joker will truly shine.

In David Ayer's movie, Joker will turn Margot Robbie's character into Harley Quinn. Plot rumors for "Suicide Squad" have been very limited, but what is already known is that the graphic novel "Killing Joke" will be adapted for the big screen in 2016.

Mark Hamill, the actor who lent his voice as Joker in "Batman: The Animated Series," already confirmed his return to the franchise. As of late, it is still unclear whether or not voice talent Kevin Conroy will play the role of Batman.

Meanwhile, there are some speculations that Leto's Joker will be much darker than that of the late Heath Ledger. There are also rumors suggesting that Barbara Gordon will make an appearance on "Suicide Squad." It is still unclear though whether or not Barbara will be assaulted in the film or if she will appear in her crippled state.

"Suicide Squad" stars Will Smith as Deadshot, Cara Delevingne as Enchantress, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, Viola Davis as Amanda Waller and more. The film is set to hit theaters in the United States on Aug. 5, 2016.
