iPad Mini 4 Release Date & Rumors: Device To Be The Thinnest iPad Yet, To Be Launched on Sept. 9?

A new leaked design of what appears to be Apple's upcoming iPad Mini 4 has surfaced this week. The rumored iPad Mini 4 leaked design was touted to be the "thinnest" device yet from Apple, putting it on par with the iPad Air 2 model.

The rumored iPad Mini 4 device showed a 6.1-millimeter thick device. Apple is rumored to reveal the fourth-generation device on September 9, a report from Apple Insider said on Monday.

According to Apple Insider, the leaked photos and videos of the rumored iPad Mini 4 was shared by @OnLeaks. The @OnLeaks Twitter handle has revealed a thinner device which shares the same "look and feel" with the iPad Air 2, which is Apple's current flagship tablet.

The report also disclosed that the rumored device will have the same internal specifications with that of iPad Air 2, which includes an A8 processor, an 8-megapixel camera, and 802.11ac Wi-Fi, among others.

According to Modmyi, @OnLeaks is a reliable source of information, considering that it reportedly provided accurate details about iPhone 6 and iPhone 5s in the past. The report also stressed that previous reports have pointed out that iPad Mini 4 will have upgraded features, although it will look similar to the iPad Air 2.

Just recently, it was rumored that Apple will hold an event on September 9 where it will unveil the company's upcoming devices such as the iPad, iPhone and Apple TV. However, it was said that the Cupertino-based company usually holds a press event in October especially, especially when it comes to the launch of is new tablets.

All these remain to be rumors until Apple finally confirms details in its scheduled event.
