'Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim' Will Not Have a Sequel; Focus Is Still On ‘Fallout 4,’ Game Developer Bethesda Says

Game developer Bethesda has announced that a sequel of the "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" video game won't likely happen. The company has explained that at present it is focusing on the development of "Fallout 4" video game.

Although the video game has received a remarkable review from its avid fans as manifested by its more than 20 million copies sold globally, Bethesda maintained that it will take a "very long time" to develop a sequel for "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," a report from Gamerant said on Monday.

According to Gaming Bolt, Bethesda's Pete Hines, vice president of Marketing, reported that the company is working overtime for the speedy development of "Fallout 4 out" video game, which is slated to be released this year. Hines said that the people involved in the "Fallout 4" game at the firm was actually "devoting all their time to the game."

Hines made this announcement last week during the Gamescom 2015 event in Germany. This fresh development is expected to make avid fans of "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" frustrated despite the company's announcement of the video game for both iPad and PC.

Hines further explained that the crew developing the "Fallout 4" video game is composed of only a few people. He added that the group does not appear to be growing compared to other companies. Hines revealed that only "a hundred and something" crew members are involved in the "Fallout 4" video game since its inception.

Hines reportedly believes that it is imperative therefore that the company only focuses on one game at a time. The company maintained that it has no interest as of the moment to develop a sequel for the "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," according to the aforementioned website.

Bethesda has also said that the company has a lot more work to be done for the "Fallout 4" video game. Even though it has already announced the video game's release date, Bethesda will reportedly still has to fix bugs, refine the game's code and conduct QA testing. This is to ensure that the video game will not have technical glitches and offer superb performance to its global gamers once the game is rolled out, Gamerant reported.
