A new character will be introduced on everybody's favorite American cartoon series "The Simpsons". As per Entertainment Weekly, a new teacher will be taking over Mrs Krabappel's class after she retired. Though Mrs Krabappel's character was made to retire in 2014's episode, it was because Marcia Wallace, the voice behind Bart Simpsons' teacher passed away in 2013. The new teacher is more forgiving than Mrs Krabappel as she pays special attention to Bart.
The Colombian- American actress, Sofia Vergara will be joining the Simpsons for a cameo role next season, as she was casted to play the part of Bart Simpson's teacher. As per E! Vergara will be playing the role of Mrs Barrera, Bart's teacher that he's been eyeing on. Though Bart is too young [10 years old] to have a crush on his teacher, it was later explained on the plot that Bart accidentally drinks a milk on their "Teenage Mutant Milk-Caused Hurdles" episode that would be released sometime this season.
The milk substitute that contains bad hormones which triggers early puberty for some young adults took over Bart's body giving him as mustache and feelings for his teacher. To make the plot more interesting, writers also linked Mrs Barrera to principal Skinner after the both of them connected over their veteran statuses. This was done mostly because the producers thought it would be interesting if Bart and Mr Skinner shared the same lover interest.
Though Vergara was only asked to star in one episode of "The Simpsons", there's a huge possibility for a plot twist that could have her back all throughout the season. The storyline involving Vergara's role made Harry Shearer [the voice behind Mr Skinner] glad after announcing that he was leaving; he will be returning to "The Simpsons" simply because watching a new Skinner fall in love with Mrs Barrera just wouldn't be the same.
