News Reading Apps: Know the Latest via Wildcard

"Always on the move" can, perhaps, be the best description to give people, like us, who are living in this modern and digital age. We are occupied with a lot of things that we hardly find the time to sit down, read leisurely and lengthily.

Thanks to technology, news reading has become possible on mobile phones, making us aware of what's happening even when we are on the go. It has become so popular that Apple is introducing its native News app in iOS 9 soon. But a competitor has already made its way to the market.

Wildcard is the latest contender in this category. The news app comes with these distinct features:

1.       Editorially Curated - An editorial team picks and organizes interesting contents from the web and these are continually updated and fed. They do the hard work for the readers to have easy access on what they want to listen to, read and watch. More importantly, the items are click bait- free and full of context.

2.       Visually Stunning - Wildcard has been specifically designed for the phone to make browsing, skimming, reading, viewing and sharing really easy.

3.       Effortless - It was made in such a way that its user can easily scan what is interesting and can easily find articles, stories, photos and videos from across the internet, favorite sites and publications.

4.       Fast - using the streamlined card technology in delivering internet content straight to the phone without delay.

The news app is not totally new as it has been reincarnated from an earlier version. Seven months ago, the current version was developed to forgo the browser concept and just focus on news updates. Likewise, it offers a better way to present content such as photos, videos and rich media on the devices' smaller screens. This newer design pattern has also become popular on mobile as a better way to showcase content.

Following suit from another news app, Circa, Wildcard can "follow" on a particular story and receive notifications when a new information or update related to it has been released.

Wildcard has been in private beta testing with 1,000 users and has enjoyed retention of about 40 percent around this time. It is now available on the App store for you to try.
