One of the biggest pop star royalties will be coming in the Marbella hotel this season. It was confirmed that Britney Spears will be coming to "Jane the Virgin" for its Season 2. According to the Hollywood Reporter, the pop star herself confirmed the news via her Twitter account.
This will not be the first time the singer will appear on a television show. Reports reveal that Spears already appeared in television shows like "Glee," "Will & Grace," and also had a two-episode cameo in "How I Met Your Mother." She was also a judge on Fox's "The X-Factor."
In a recent interview, showrunner Jennie Snyder Urman said that they are so thrilled to have the singer in the show. According to Variety, the singer will appear in the fifth episode of Season 2 and Urman revealed that Spears will be playing the real nemesis of Rogelio (Jamie Camil).
Spears expressed her excitement on the recent news in her social media account. She stated that it was a "dream come true" and she wrote, "See u at the Marbella Hotel soon."
Gina Rodriguez, who plays Jane Villanueva in the show, also expressed her anticipation with working with the popular singer. Rodriguez tweeted that she cannot wait to work with the singer and said that this is also a dream come true for the cast.
According to Latin Times, Spears is following the footsteps of "The X-Factor" judge Paulina Rubio who also appeared in the said reality show during its third and final season. The Mexican singer also appeared in "Jane The Virgin" in Season 2 where she had a brief cameo as herself since she is Xo's (Andrea Navedo) idol.
"Jane The Virgin" Season 2 will be airing on The CW on Monday October 12 and it is said to pick up where it left off in Season 1 following the kidnapping of Jane's baby.
