Samsung Galaxy S7 Release Date: Device's Benchmarking Tests Leaked; Device Considered The Most Powerful Smartphone Ever [Rumors]

Just months after the release of the Samsung Galaxy S6 and the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge, information leaked online pertaining to the devices' rumored successor, which is the Samsung Galaxy S7.

According to International Business Times, there have been documents about the reported flagship device that were leaked online. The report reveals that the documents indicate that the company is testing the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chip on its Galaxy S7.

It has been known that when the 820 is being utilized, there could be issues with overheating. Many tech websites believe that for the device to work properly, the company has to make substantial improvements to it.

Crave Online reported that the device obtained a score of 95,972 points in the AnTuTu benchmarking tests. This was reported to be vastly superior to the Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 which had 69,702 points. By considering these numbers, it was speculated that Samsung Galaxy S7 may just be the most powerful smartphone in the world to date.

In the leaked documents, the Samsung Galaxy S7 was under the codename "Jungfrau." It is said that the device might have a quicker development because the company has switched to a widely used procedure called "Agile."

With this, many website speculates that Samsung Galaxy S7 may be ready for release in the latter part of this year. However, there are still those who think that Samsung might release the device in the early part of 2016 instead. However, no actual date has been set yet.

Samsung has also not yet released any Galaxy S7 specifications, but fans can expect the company to release the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ and Galaxy Note 5, which will reportedly be revealed in their Unpacked event in New York on August 13.
