After the struggle to gain enough audience for the first season, NBC stopped "Constantine". Fans of the show were disappointed, they wanted to see more of it, they even went to social media to advertise in the hopes that another network picks up the next season. Unfortunately, no one dared to pick up Constantine's second season, so the show had to die eventually.
However right now, something happened that might bring happiness to "Constantine" fans. During the TCA, it was revealed that John Constantine will be seen once again on "Arrow". This means that Matt Ryan will once again be able to wear that trench coat that all Constantine fans have missed.
But if you are one of the people who grieved the cancellation of "Constantine", and followed all the announcements of what's next for the series, hearing that Constantine will crossover with "Arrow" wouldn't be a shocking news at all. Arrow's Stephen Amell was proud to support the show when he offered to be in the series as a guest star. He also tried to push the idea of having an Arrow/Constantine crossover when the show underwent cancellation. Even the producers of "Arrow" were open to the idea that Ryan as "Constantine" can live in the Arrow universe.
Matt Ryan is definitely happy and excited for this project. It can be felt in his tweet: The Trench Coat is being dusted off. #Constantine #Arrow @CW_Arrow @amellywood looking forward to it. #thisfall
Clearly, they are not going to allow TV superheroes to fail totally. We can't deny the success behind Warner Bros and DC comics when it comes to TV shows. They have seen things go well with "The Flash", "Arrow", and "Gotham". This is probably why they can't just let "Constantine" go away like nothing happened. It might have failed to be embraced by a larger audience, but the number of people who liked the show may deserve to see more of the character.
Now that Matt Ryan can be once again seen as John Constantine, all fans can celebrate! Let's hope things work out on this crossover. Let's watch and find out, "Arrow" Season 4 will be back on October 7.
