The New Lessors of the Empire State Building

Frank Knight of Newmark Grubb took the reins as Empire State Building's foremost leasing agent in 2009,however there's a new development change and it was Empire State Realty Trust Inc.'s move to switch over to JLL, according to an article featured in wsj.com.

Management gave no word of the reason behind the change, and are declining to comment, as mentioned in the same article. "Newmark has "been executing well"...That's what makes it a little surprising.", Green Street Advisor analyst Jed Reagan was quoted as saying.

Still in the same article, Newmark President James Kuhn reportedly said "The best coach in basketball, Tom Thibodeau of the [Chicago] Bulls, took them to the playoffs and he's not there. Jim Harbaugh was the great coach of the [San Francisco] 49ers and he's not there.. Owners of real estate are entitled to do whatever they want for any reason."

The 102 story building has been well-known as one of the landmarks in New York, being home to high-profile investors over the years. An article in edition.cnn.com compiled a list of must-sees and dos whenever there's a chance to visit the famous building. Here are a few:

Popular movies like "Amazing Spiderman" and "Sleepless in Seattle" are among the ones that included the infamous Empire State Building in some of their movie scenes.

There's an Empire State Building Wedding Club. Every year on February 14th (Valentine's Day), couples who married on the 80th floor of the high rise get to have free admission when visiting the building's observatory. On any clear day, visitors can gaze upon the states of New Jersey, Connecticut, New York, Massachusetts and Pennsylvania in as far as an 80 mile eyesight.
