Believe it or not, Henry Cavill was "bullied" as a kid.
"I was teased and it was hard.. Even though for some it may be malicious, I think it's just kids being kids, and I don't hold any grudges..People have had it far worse than me, " the "Man From U.N.C.L.E" star said of his unpopular status growing up as an overweight kid, according to an article in people.com.
Although he grew up in the U.K.'s Channel Islands, Cavill attended and got "bullied" whilst attending St. Michael's Preparatory School in Saint Saviour, Jersey.
He also said of the teasing, "It helped me read people very well, which has helped me in this industry. If I can understand the inner workings of a human being, then I can probably be a better actor."
"Someone who is on the outskirts of popularity is someone who gets to look in..So I became very much an observer, and that taught me an awful lot about people" he humbly says of his experiences.
In another article in the dailymail.co.uk, the "Man of Steel" actor recalls being 17 and at the set of the 2000 movie "Proof of Life" with veteran actor, Russell Crowe. In one of the movie scenes, Crowe shared to Cavill this advice: "Sometimes they treat you well and sometimes they don't and sometimes the pay is great and sometimes it's not. But it's great fun."
Cavill also received a dear note a few days later from Crowe himself, telling him "Dear Henry, the journey of 1,000 miles begins with a single step. Best, Russell." Sure enough, that memorable encounter between the two somehow paved the way for the hunky actor to follow suit and join Hollywood.
As of this writing, Henry Cavill's estimated net worth is at $58 million, according to a featured article on en.mediamass.net.
