In a recent interview, however, the "Dirty Work" singer admitted that he is still open to the possibility of reuniting with his ex-girlfriend.
It looks like breakup rumors between Becky G and Austin Mahone in the past were true after all, as the young couple has already confirmed that they have called it quits. In a recent interview with ET, the 19-year-old "Dirty Work" singer admitted that his and Becky G's relationship fell apart because of their busy schedules.
"We actually kinda broke up a few days ago, just 'cause we're so busy traveling and all that. We thought it was just kinda best if we just chill for a second, but we're still super close," Mahone said.
Mahone also revealed that he and Becky G are still open to the possibility of reuniting for his fourth album. Just recently, Becky G revealed in an interview with Tribute that she and Mahone were working on a song together.
"Yeah, we make music together all the time. I think that's one of the things that we bond over a lot," the 18-year-old said.
However, Becky G also seemingly hinted back then that her relationship with Mahone is not as strong as others would think, as the "Lovin So Hard" singer added, "But nothing is set in stone, it's always changing."
News about the couple's breakup made rounds on the Internet after Becky G and Mahone shared a couple of tweets.
"You'll always mean the world to me," Mahone tweeted, according to Daily Mail. Becky G also received a lot of comforting words from her fans and assured them that she's happy.
