Having great communication skills is essential to any real estate agent, and knowing what to say and when to say it will definitely help too. When it comes to your potential clients, keep it simple! As fellow agent Bernice Ross would say it, less is more when you're trying to sell a certain property.
When you're in front of the client, keep in mind that their needs go ahead of yours. Be ready for all possible questions that will be thrown at you, but be very wary of your responses. Listen to what they're asking about. A proper and ample response is needed, so you need to satisfy them with just enough details.
Don't go off the rails and say something that the client didn't ask for, because it might open up an objection when there wasn't any to begin with. If you talk too much and say things that they didn't necessarily ask about, you might just end up killing a potential sale.
Let the property do the talking! Just present them enough details to keep the client interested. The most important thing for an agent to do at the end of the day is to be completely honest with the property as well. Avoid overhyping and sugarcoating since expectations are being managed as well. Keep in mind that your reputation is on the line and your client's happiness is also on the line too.
Keeping communication lines open is a must! Answer your phones and emails when you can since working in real estate is time-sensitive, and you'd want to attend to your clients' needs as fast as you can.
